robert-hh	2e62b56bdd	ports: Refactor os.urandom(). ... Factor out mp_os_urandom() of each port into extmod/modos.c, which then calls the port-specific function mp_hal_get_random(). Move mp_hal_get_random() to mphalport where suitable. At the MIMXRT and SAMD it is left in modos.c, since there are different implementation depending on the MCU family. At the ALIF, ESP32, CC3200 and RP2 port the file modos.c was removed, since it was empty after moving mp_hal_get_random(). Tested for the cc3200, esp32, esp8266, mimxrt, nrf, rp2, samd, stm32 and unix ports. Compiled for the alif and the renesas port. This commit performs a few minor changes to the structures used to store board pin information, in order to reduce the impact on the .rodata section of the firmware of instances of those structures. The pin objects structure ("machine_pin_obj_t") instead has its QSTR variable holder changed from "qstr" to "qstr_short_t", and some elements of that structure have been rearranged to remove enough padding bytes inside structure elements to let the linker allocate less data for instances of that structure. Yoctopuce dev	df05caea6c	shared/timeutils: Standardize supported date range on all platforms. ... This is code makes sure that time functions work properly on a reasonable date range, on all platforms, regardless of the epoch. The suggested minimum range is 1970 to 2099. In order to reduce code footprint, code to support far away dates is only enabled specified by the port. New types are defined to identify timestamps. The implementation with the smallest code footprint is when support timerange is limited to 1970-2099 and Epoch is 1970. This makes it possible to use 32 bit unsigned integers for all timestamps. On ARM4F, adding support for dates up to year 3000 adds 460 bytes of code. Supporting dates back to 1600 adds another 44 bytes of code. This commit renames the NORETURN macro, indicating to the compiler that a function does not return, into MP_NORETURN to maintain the same naming convention of other similar macros. To maintain compaitiblity with existing code NORETURN is aliased to MP_NORETURN, but it is also deprecated for MicroPython v2. This changeset was created using a similar process to decf8e6a8b ("all: Remove the "STATIC" macro and just use "static" instead."), with no documentation or python scripts to change to reflect the new macro name. Damien George	40048f0f25	ports: Fix lwIP config setting to disable DHCP ARP check. ... lwIP was recently updated in a89ac9e24a to STABLE-2_2_0_RELEASE, and this introduced a change in the configuration variable `DHCP_DOES_ARP_CHECK`, renaming it to `LWIP_DHCP_DOES_ACD_CHECK`. This commit fixes the ports lwIP settings to use the new configuration option. Without this option, connecting to a WiFi access-point takes about 12.5 seconds. With this option (ie disabling DHCP ARP checks) connecting takes about 4 seconds. Tested on an RPI_PICO_W and PYBD_SF2. Andrew Leech	c98789a6d8	shared/tinyusb: Add common CDC TX/RX functions. ... There are a few TinyUSB CDC functions used for stdio that are currently replicated across a number of ports. Not surprisingly in a couple of cases these have started to diverge slightly, with additional features added to one of them. This commit consolidates a couple of key shared functions used directly by TinyUSB based ports, and makes those functions available to all. Angus Gratton	decf8e6a8b	all: Remove the "STATIC" macro and just use "static" instead. ... The STATIC macro was introduced a very long time ago in commit d5df6cd44a. The original reason for this was to have the option to define it to nothing so that all static functions become global functions and therefore visible to certain debug tools, so one could do function size comparison and other things. This STATIC feature is rarely (if ever) used. And with the use of LTO and heavy inline optimisation, analysing the size of individual functions when they are not static is not a good representation of the size of code when fully optimised. So the macro does not have much use and it's simpler to just remove it. Then you know exactly what it's doing. For example, newcomers don't have to learn what the STATIC macro is and why it exists. Reading the code is also less "loud" with a lowercase static. One other minor point in favour of removing it, is that it stops bugs with `STATIC inline`, which should always be `static inline`. Methodology for this commit was: 1) git ls-files | egrep '\.[ch]$' | \ xargs sed -Ei "s/(^| )STATIC($| )/\1static\2/" 2) Do some manual cleanup in the diff by searching for the word STATIC in comments and changing those back. 3) "git-grep STATIC docs/", manually fixed those cases. 4) "rg -t python STATIC", manually fixed codegen lines that used STATIC. For mimxrt, nrf, renesas-ra, rp2 and samd ports, this commit implements similar behaviour to the stm32 port, where USB is only brought up after boot.py completes execution. Currently this doesn't add any useful functionality (and may break workflows that depend on USB-CDC being live in boot.py), however it's a precondition for more usable workflows with USB devices defined in Python (allows setting up USB interfaces in boot.py before the device enumerates for the first time). Changes include: - Some mbedtls source files renamed or deprecated. - Our `mbedtls_config.h` files are renamed to `mbedtls_config_port.h`, so they don't clash with mbedtls's new default configuration file named `mbedtls_config.h`. - MBEDTLS_TLS_DEFAULT_ALLOW_SHA1_IN_KEY_EXCHANGE is deprecated. - MBEDTLS_HAVE_TIME now requires an `mbedtls_ms_time` function to be defined but it's only used for TLSv1.3 (currently not enabled in MicroPython so there is a lazy implementation, i.e. seconds * 1000). - `tests/multi_net/ssl_data.py` is removed (due to deprecation of MBEDTLS_TLS_DEFAULT_ALLOW_SHA1_IN_KEY_EXCHANGE), there are the existing `ssl_cert_rsa.py` and `sslcontext_server_client.py` tests which do very similar, simple SSL data transfer. - Tests now use an EC key by default (they are smaller and faster), and the RSA key has been regenerated due to the old PKCS encoding used by openssl rsa command, see https://stackoverflow.com/questions/40822328/openssl-rsa-key-pem-and-der-conversion-does-not-match (and `tests/README.md` has been updated accordingly).
