0878b0528c Reworked .travis.yml: 
* added dist trusty
  * added python 3.4 to both dists (there's been no reason in comments why it's been disabled)
  * added `sudo python build.py install` in order to test installation

d74f8708db Add numpy to requirements 
numpy is required for a few unit tests.  Since requirements already includes pytest (and friends) for the sake of testing, it makes sense to ensure all required modules are present.
